We will discuss strategies on how to structure your business, and the earnings within it, to minimize exposure to tax and increase earning potential without having to increase revenues. Changes to Nelson Square Parking Garage
A Message from Works and Transportation
We would like to advise you of some upcoming changes to the Nelson Square parking garage for monthly permit holders. In fall 2012, crews did construction work outside the garage. This was the first step in teh facilitiy's transition to a fully automated system, similar to the other City-owned downtown parking garages. 2013 AGM Results
Thank you to all of you who were able to join us at the Annual General Meeting last night at PAMA.
I would like to share with you the results of the election.
In the Landlord class I am pleased to announce that David Harmsworth has been elected to a 3yr term and that Herman Custodio has been elected to a 1yr term.
In the Tenant class, Kyle Pulis has been elected to a 3yr term.
I would like to thank David, Herman and Kyle for putting forward their time and energy in serving on the board and look forward to working with them in the coming year.

Notice of Parking Rate Change
A message from Works and Transportation:
Effective May 1, 2013, there will be a modest increase in parking rates in the Downtown.
Rates will chane for short term parking but the first hour will still be free in the parking garages. The garages will continue to be free evenings, weekends and holidays. Rates will change for permit holders as well. Click here for the new rates.

The Canadian Urban Institute has released their report on Investing in Downtowns. This project is the first of its kind, which examines 10 Canadian downtowns to assess changes in attitudes, perceptions, functionality and performance over time.

Volunteers Needed for Host Program

The BDDC is looking for volunteers to act as Hosts for Brampton Downtown. Brampton Downtown Hosts will greet visitors and pedestrians, help with direction, inform the public about sales and specials, hand out coupons and directories, help with parking information and promote upcoming events.
Host volunteers will be outfitted in easily identifiable uniforms and will be walking a pre-determined path throughout the Brampton Downtown core.
